The main narrative starts a while ago before Mars invaded Earth. Two narrators are telling us the story including an anonymous one and his brother. Some of the events told before the Mars invasion has even happened. The main reason behind the invasion is dwindling resources on Mars and that’s why Aliens plan to invade earth.
The War of the Worlds is divided into two parts i.e. the invasion of Mars and the Earth under the Martians. In the first part, the narrator tells how he is sent to the astronomical observatory, and he witnesses explosions seen on Mars’ surface. Also, when the invasion has taken place, the narrator opts to rescue his wife. The other people on earth are also under the same hustle.
His brother is the second narrator in the story. Also, his perspectives at some points are quite different from the original narrator. In the second part when the invasion has taken place, people on earth are fighting for survival. This war between humans and an extraterrestrial race has created a catastrophic situation.
