Walter Dean Myers’ Monster brings some daunting situations that would love during your first read. The innocent are charged as guilt while the rich walk free and this world is no different from that. There are characters in the story that you can relate to and you will fall in love with some. Unfortunately, such a beautiful drama didn’t receive the deserved recognition before the film.
However, now Monster is a matter of discussion among multiple literary circles. The story of the young Steve Harmon is like among those thousands that we have witnessed in our lives. He is facing murder charges and whether or not he is innocent, only time will tell. However, one thing is for sure: young Steve Harmon is just another pawn being used in a forever cruel system.
